Regulations

1)   The * Academic Council shall have power to make regulations subject to the provisions of this Act, and such regulations may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely:

a)   the admission of students to the University or prescribing the examinations to be recognised as equivalent to University examinations;

b)  the courses of study to be laid down and examinations and the conditions on which students shall be admitted to examinations for the degrees, diplomas, certificates and titles of the University;

c)  the grant of exemptions.

2)  All regulations shall have effect from such date as the  * Academic Council may direct but every regulation made by the  * Academic Council shall be submitted, as soon as may be, to the Executive Council for approval by a simple majority or refer it back to the * Academic Council for reconsideration.

3)  Notwithstanding anything in sub-sections (1) and (2) it shall be competent for the Executive Council to frame regulations in relation to matters entrusted to it by this Act.
