Formation of BC Cell:
The BC Cell is established to cater to the BC categories of students and employees who form a major chunk of the shake holders in the University.
The BCs Cell was set up in 2018. The BC cell is headed by an Officer-in charge.
  • To implement the reservation policy for BC Students and employees in the University.
  • To Collect data regarding the implementation of policies with respect to admissions, appointment to teaching and Non-teaching positions in this university and analysis of the data showing the trends and changes towards fulfilling the required quota.
  • To take up such follow-up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for of the said purpose by Govt. Of India, Govt. Of Telangana, Govt. Of Andhra Pradesh and UGC
  • To implement, monitor continuously and evaluate the reservation policy of the university and suggest measures for ensuring the effective implementation of policy and programmes of the Govt. of India.

Functions:

  • Monitoring the admissions of BCs students in various courses
  • Guiding the staff of Learner Support Services Division about rules of reservation and fee
  • concessions.
  • Maintaining liaison with the Social and Backward Welfare Officers in the 23 Districts where
  • RCs of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University are located.
  • Preparation and furnishing detailed enrolment lists’ of BCs students to Government of
  • Telangana, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Ministry of HRD and TSCHE and AP State
  • Council of Higher education, Every Year (APSCHE)
  • Conduction of Counselling classes for BC students.
  • Conduction of remedial classes for BC Cell students.
